We are a registered non-profit organization dedicated to serving the greater Holden Beach Community —both on and off the island— by preserving the rich history and heritage of our town for the families of future generations. As an advocacy group, our strategy involves working with the Town of Holden Beach, Brunswick County, and the State of North Carolina, to educate, promote, and raise funds for the restoration, preservation, and maintenance of public projects within the Holden Beach community. Our organization is open to businesses, residents, property owners, vacationers, and visitors interested in supporting our cause!
One of our initial projects is to organize a united campaign to restore, revive, and reopen the Holden Beach Fishing Pier. The town purchased the pier property and received a grant to ensure that the pier property will be used for recreation. Our goal is to support the town through fundraising efforts including events, grants, celebrity endorsements, corporate sponsorships, assistance from the state, and legislative support to reopen the pier. Once repairs are completed, the HBCA will continue to raise funds for the ongoing maintenance and improvements that will be required for the pier and/or other necessary historical preservation and community service projects.
